Terms of use
The deal for using OmniEx
For parents - quick summary
OmniEx is a free educational website made by {{owner}}, who runs the service and is responsible for it. These terms are written in plain English to be easy to read; they are not legal advice and have not been checked by a lawyer. Nothing here takes away anyone's legal rights.
Who runs OmniEx
OmniEx (omniex.co.uk) is made by {{owner}}, who looks after everything, including the grown-up side of things.
Using OmniEx
- OmniEx is free. You need an account to use it.
- Students can use the class code, username and PIN from their teacher - no email needed.
- If you are under 13, a parent, guardian or teacher should set up or OK your account (a teacher's student login is the easiest way).
- Keep your PIN or password secret. Don't use anyone else's account.
- Follow the [[rules|Site rules]] - they keep OmniEx safe and kind.
Things you type
- Your nickname, bio and status can be seen by other players. You are responsible for what you write.
- We can change or remove anything that breaks the rules.
Learning content
- We work hard to get the science, maths and history right, but mistakes can happen. If you spot one, please tell us.
- The Chem Lab is a simulation. Never try experiments at home - real chemicals can be dangerous. Only do practical work with a teacher or a responsible adult.
When we can close an account
If someone breaks the rules, we may reset their nickname, hide them from the leaderboard, or close their account. Teachers can also manage the students in their classes.
Changes
OmniEx is a free hobby project, so it can change, have bugs or sometimes be offline. Games and features may be added or removed. If these terms change in a big way, we'll say so on the site.
Paying
There is nothing to buy right now. See [[pricing|Pricing & cancellation]].
